I had my appointment with my Chiropractor and let me just say, I wish I would have gone sooner. I know I know...I put it off because I had such a bad experience the last time I went and it was nothing like that. I got there filled all the paperwork out and then saw her internist. Who was super nice.
We talked about where the pain was, how far along I was, and what I ate in a typical day. Let me tell you I wasn't ready for this and when you have to say it to someone else, you realize you aren't eating the right things. So that will have to change. I have to get a TON more protein in my diet, but I knew that already.
She found out that my right leg is shorter than my left leg. and did some work on my back. My lower right side is pretty tender and I have a lot of tightness all the way up my right side - probably from the computer work I do all day long since I am right-handed.
Then the doc came in and she did some more reflex stuff and then worked on my back. It was more like a massage than anything, but it felt really nice. Then she used the table I was on and the bottom 1/2 of it lowered while she stretched out my back. Then she used this tool that helped put the joints back in place. i can't remember what it's called, but it wasn't too bad. it was a little weird, but I don't feel like I am in massive amounts of pain - not like last time. Last time I left the chiro I couldn't move.
So I have another appointment tomorrow with her in the afternoon and then I will have another one on Friday. I re-verified that she is covered under my insurance. When I got there this morning the receptionist said she wasn't. But I called up the insurance company and she is, so that's good news. I have almost reached my deductible of $350.00 so this next couple of sessions I only have to pay 20% of whatever the cost is they will cover which will be nice. She said her sessions are no more than $150.00 each. so that's not too bad.
She said she will want to put me on a Cod-Liver Oil Supplement and something else. I will talk to my Midwife before I get that. She also suggested that I have a doula at birth and I am not sure about that. But I am going to look into the Bradley method for birthing and see what that's all about. So overall it was a great appointment. She is amazing and reminds me a lot of my MidWife which is great!

Glad it went so well, and that it seemed to help!
still considering the Bradley method? I haven't been a big fan, I don't enjoy debates with fathers over pain control when mom's are begging for better management. With the midwives you will have your choices in birthing.

Tami - I read the book (well most of it) and mainly just took the relaxation part of it from there. We aren't really going with a specific method, but rather just what works best for me :) My midwife is pretty much open to whatever I want.
