Pink Eye

Its that Time again. Manic Mommy Monday! I know I haven't been the greatest about this each week, but it's been busy around our house what can I say? If you haven't been privy to one of my early Manic Mommy Monday posts, it's a blog hop hosted by The Gnomes Mom. If you haven't had a chance to check her blog out you should it's really cool!

Manic Mommy Monday!

So last Thursday around 4:15 I got the dreaded call for daycare. The call that you don't want to get because it means either they aren't listening really bad, acting out, bite someone, been injured or are sick. Well this was the latter. Gabby had goop in her left eye and it was red. Man I hate those words. I HATE pink eye with a passion. I can't even express to you on this blog how much I HATE pink eye. Fine I will say it one more time. I HATE PINK EYE!! you get the idea.

So I go and pick her up. Not thinking I leave the house without a diaper, wipes, food or drink. Thinking I will just bring her home because I can't get her into the doctor until tomorrow and she can't go back until 24-48 hours symptom free right?? Well no Working Mama! Gabby is now over 18 months and I got the bright idea to take her to the minute clinic. With NOTHING. Yep thats me. So I went to the first - 7th person in line. it would be over an hour wait. So much for minute clinic. But I didn't find that out until I bought some snacks, water and a book to keep little peanut happy. Which ended up working except the book is stupid and it will stay in the car for such occasions in the future.

The 2nd clinic was a godsend. Had a nice waiting room - I LOVE Target - just throwing it out there. and it was only a 15 minute wait. I have to admit I was flying through the screens to try to beat the lady next to me with her 17 yo son...I mean seriously he just had a sore throat he could have waited, but I wasn't quick enough.

20 minutes later we were in the room - with a little girl who was more interested in the stickers then getting her weight taken or her oxygen taken. But sure enough without barely looking at her she said Pink Eye! So 75 dollars later we were out the door to the pharmacy for a perscription. I had to fill out the form with a 19 month old in my arms and make sure she wouldn't fall as she was failing for water and crackers...

20 minutes later I am back at the pharmacy to pay only to find out I gave them the wrong insurance card. So Now I am one of those parents that I always felt so sorry for. Yep I was the one that was standing at the counter digging through a HUGE purse trying to find the right card, telling my daughter that she needed to stay put and then having to leave everything to run after her. What a mess. all while being watched by everyone....sigh.

We made it out of Target barely. Trying to keep a 19 month old from touching anything in a store of wonderful things is difficult but I did it. We are now on Day 4 of 7 of antibiotics and man putting eye drops in a toddler is hard and it takes 2 of us. Hard to believe they can be so strong when they are so little! That was my weekend and how my Monday is!

Hope everyone else had a better week/weekend then I did!

My DD had Pink Eye about 2 years ago - UGH. Not only is it a pain to deal with, but I felt like I was paying for Unicorn Tears at the pharmacy!!!

I know right?? There is another case of it at her daycare so hopefully she doesn't get it. Luckily it's not in her room.
