If you ask a lot of people at our wedding what they remember they might tell you that nice old man that gave me a quarter. Yep! That would be my grandfather.
He always wants to put a smile on your face, in fact when I visited him at the nursing home a few weeks ago I was told by one of his friends (and pretty much everyone else) that he goes around trying to make people smile and that he is such a great guy! Definitely sounds like Grandpa Ed.
At my wedding he had a few rolls of quarters and were handing them out to the kids, my bridesmaids and anyone else he could give them to. My maid of honor Jenny still brings that up every now and again that Grandpa gave her a quarter and how sweet it was.
My mom always has to have his quarters stocked so he can hand them out. The last two times we have gone to visit Gabby has come home with a few quarters herself. Grandpa Ed is going to pay for her college one quarter at a time.
I guess my moral of this post is one to honor my grandfather who is an awesome person and I love dearly and the other is to enjoy the little things in life.Something as simple as a quarter can really perk up someone's day. So for this Friday - pay it forward and give something small to someone in your life and ask them to do the same.
