Breezy Point

We just got back from our vacation at Breezy Point. It was super fun and a great time, even though the weather wasn't the finest.

We left on Saturday in the rain and it ended up raining most of the night. It finally stopped around dinner time. We went to this great smokehouse and I had some steak and au gratin potatoes and then a stop at the DQ :) Gotta love ice cream. Just because I have gestational diabetes doesn't mean I can't have some sweets here and there.

Sunday we went golfing at our favorite little par three golf course. Since it's so short we did 18. Well I should say that Mike and Barb did 18 while Dick & I walked the last 9 with them. It's just a repeat of the first 9 since that's all they have, but it was a good workout. Barrett and Leah came up later in the evening and we ate Mike's wonderful Asian ribs (let me know if you want the recipe, it's wonderful).

Monday - Golf again, we went to our other favorite course Emily Greens. We golfed only 9 here and I actually did pretty well. We went out to another bar for dinner and had a good time, off to the DQ again :)

Tuesday it rained ALL DAY LONG! and when I say rain I mean downpoured a lot of the day. Not much that we did that day, we went swimming in the evening at the pool which was fun.

Wednesday we went golfing at the Traditional Golf Course at Breezy Point. It was AWFUL! I golfed a 72 on a par 34. Totally bad. I only golfed 9 while everyone else did 18. We had carts, so I drove the cart for Mike on the back nine, which was fun to just relax.

Thursday - I had to work in the morning and the rest of the group went and golfed 18 at another golf course. Lets just say they golfed. It was pretty muggy out. Thursday afternoon, Leah & I went and got Manicures and Pedicures. It was a lot of fun. We aren't going back to the same place again, but we still had a good time. Thursday night we went out to this restaurant, this little Italian place in the middle of Cross Lake and it wasn't at all what I expected. It was raining again and about 10 minutes after we got our drinks we were told to go into the basement because there was a funnel cloud sited not that far away (a few blocks, maybe a 1/2 mile). So the entire bar and restaurant (luckily it wasn't packed) filed into the basement. I found a chair which was nice, because we were down there for about 20 minutes. The old ladies were joking about how I might go into labor and how funny that would be...I didn't really find it funny. But luckily that didn't happen. We got to go back upstairs not that long after which was nice.  The food was wonderful! I got the lobster ravioli and it was amazing.

Friday - I had to work again. Barrett & Leah took off to Fargo for her Brother's wedding (Congrats Trevor). and Mike and his parents went mini-golfing. Mike did some kayaking, I spent the afternoon chilling out and working and then we just hung out outside. We packed up, had some dinner and started home. It was a great week, just very tiring. I am now exhausted....

We picked up Mac today and she was so excited to see us!! as I was excited to see her. It's nice to have her around again.
