Awhile back we started putting little miss Gabby on the potty. If she looked like she had to go or asked to go we would put her on, but I didn't push it. I had heard stories of regression with a new baby, and I knew that it would be a lot of changes. Plus she was still in her Early Preschool 1 room at school and they didn't push it, so I didn't. However about a month before Liv arrived Gabby really started to make progress. She was waking up dry at nap, going multiple times in one day at daycare and even going before bed.
So the week before Liv was born or so we got her big girl underwear. She was over joyed with the experience of getting to go to the store with us and pick them out. She was SO SO HAPPY!
She transitioned to Early Preschool 2 room 10 days after Liv was born and in this classroom they have two cute little potty's. Yep I said cute, that's exactly what they are. Gabby can go into the room, go to the bathroom, wipe and wash her hands all without needing help from her teacher.
She was doing really well - still is doing well. She has only had a few accidents here and there, but overall tells us when she needs to go. We were doing diapers at nap and during the night. But 95% of the time she has been waking up dry over night and at nap time.
Last week they sent all the diapers home at school, they said she didn't need them at nap time anymore. But these past 2 weeks or so, she has been refusing to wear her big girl underwear without a diaper. She wants to wear one in the morning ,and put it on herself. We thought it was regression - I still think it is, but she never pees in these diapers. She just wears it and then goes on the potty.
We were going to wait to take her diaper away overnight when Mike was done working at the ski hill, but she is getting more and more insistent on wearing it in the morning to daycare that I think we just need to take them away completely and go cold turkey. I think she might be holding on to the diaper because then she is more like Liv, but either way I think we are going to take the plunge and have a diaper free toddler in this house! It will be nice to only have one in diapers.
It has definitely been an experience that's for sure. Although from stories I have heard from people we had it pretty darn easy. so I am sure with Liv it will be harder..LOL.

Maria was easy like that too. She just figured it out on her own. But within the month after Charlie came home she regressed. It wasn't until one evening when we were changing her and she asked what stunk and we told her that it was her stinky butt from the diapers and she never went back. We did do pull-ups through the night until she was about 3 1/2 though mostly for my sanity and not wanting to change sheets in the middle of the night. Good luck! I hope she has it figured out!
