Nursing a 17 month old...

...is a lot like nursing a wiggly worm. This is how it's been at bedtime the past few nights

Gabby lays down on my lap to nurse in my glider.
Nurse for 2 minutes
Says Switch - Signs More
Nurse for 2 minutes
Says Switch - Signs More
Nurses for 2 minutes
Sits up and gives me a hug
Plays with my earrings & my hair
Lays down - Nurses for 2 minutes
Sits up - Looks at the nightstand - asks for book
Mama says No - asks for book again.
Mama says No - asks for ibuprofen (Yes my child loves her medicine)
Mama says No
Signs for More for Milk
Lays down and nurses - The switches every 5 minutes goes on for another 15 or 20

Time for bed! She is adorable and at least keeps it interesting!

Ha!!! That's exactly how my 11 month old nurses... less the talking.

Ohhhh yes I remember that - from like 30 minutes ago, lol! Just that instead of in the glider, we're in her bed now. But the "switch sides!" request is still going strong at nearly 27 months... oy...!

Way to go... nursing a toddler is not for the faint of heart!!! :)

I totally love it! I am so happy that I have been blessed to nurse my little one for as long as I have. Ella congrats to you for 27 months! Thats amazing! Go Mama!!

I just lay down now topless. When Peter decides to switch sides, he latches to the new one then throws his body across me. Oy.

I love that she asks for medicine! That's hilarious. Mine asks for the cell phone and a pillow.

Liz - I do that sometimes when I am nursing her in bed, but most of the time we are on the couch or upstairs in her room so it's a bit harder to do..

I have been blessed (unfortuntely or fortuntely) with a child that takes medicine easily. The bad part about that was she had so much medicine when she was really little (between the reflux meds and the ear infections, and vitamins) that she was constantly taking stuff from us and now I fill up the suringe and she opens wide.
