The Life of a Hunters Wife

It's that time of year again when I lose my husband to hunting. Mike does some grouse hunting, pheasant hunting and deer hunting. This past weekend he was grouse hunting with his family. They have a trailer they take up to Buyck MN. If you are trying to pronounce the town, it's just like Bike. They have have a kids bike on the top of the sign when you enter and leave town ;) It's a small little town. And it's actually not even technically a "Town" it's an unincorporated township. I used to go up there, but since we had the little one I now stay home. I did really enjoy going with because I liked getting out in nature and walking the trails up in Northern MN.

Deer hunting is a different story - I will never go when he goes, unless he goes to the cabin in WI. I like the time by myself (well with the baby) but I do miss my hubby.

So here is to all the hunter wives out there ;) May you enjoy all your weekends with out your hubby's.

My Mom still complains about being a hunting widow to this day. My sister on the other hand is a hair stylist and she said as soon as hunting season would start she would be booked full on weekends of women who were treating themselves to spa days while their husbands were away. Not a bad idea!

I have grown up with it, and I try to plan stuff around this time to treat myself, just hard now with the little one. I am sure when she gets older it will be better. Not sure what I am going to do when I have two ;)
