Its supposed to be good to help prevent C-Sections, medications that can be harmful to the baby and a few other things. I don't know a lot about it, but will be posting more about it as I read more on it when I get the book. Mike and I talked about having a Doula but he said he wants to be my coach (sweet huh?)...So I thought this would be a good idea to have this which will help him. My Chiropractor said the book is written towards the husband's point of view so I am sure that will help him. We will see - he doesn't like to read books, so I might have to mark sections here and there for him. :)

Oh, I had meant to send my copy in for you with Daryl. Looks like you may have gotten a new edition, though, which is probably good (the pictures in mine were very dated, to say the least). I thought the book was very helpful. Good luck!
I've always wanted to do this but we had a very complicated 1st pregnancy followed by additional surgeries so now I don't have a choice but to go C-section. I am always so excited for those who can waterbirth! I hear it's the most amazing experience!
Hey, it is sweetie_liv from your board, I just stumbled across your blog and really liked it :) My husband bought this book and has similar feelings as your husband (wants to be my sole support person). I had a bit of trouble getting into it because there is this idea of "the perfect relaxed birth." I worried about setting such a high standard. I am having a natural birth too. I recommend the author Sheila Kitzinger. for the woman it is incredibly empowering...and has great tips for partners also. There are pix from actual births which are gorgeous.

Sweetie_Liv - Thanks for the tip on that Author, I will definitely check her out. I was just thinking the same thing yesterday when I was reading the book as well....I am not that far into it yet, but I think it will really help Mike.
