Here is another installment of Manic Mommy Monday from The Gnomes Mom.

This weekend my WONDERFUL husband was kind enough to take over the parenting duties so that I could spend part of the weekend with my best friend Jenny. I spent Friday night with my baby girl and the hubby, dinner, bath time and off to bed. Then I loaded up the car and headed to my friends house - she only lives about a 1/2 hour away, but it was far enough to be a "Getaway weekend". I was planning on being gone until Sunday morning.
When I got to my friends house we made a run to target for junk food, breakfast and of course we checked out the clothes! I thought I had a dress, but it did not look good on me at all. I am still on the hunt for a fun sun dress that I can wear to a wedding in September (7 months pregnant).
When we got back with our junk food we started up Twilight. She and her roommate LOVE these movies and I had never seen them or read the books....The first one wasn't bad. I actually stayed up past my bedtime and was up until midnight. Can you even believe that??
Saturday we had breakfast and then headed out for a walk. She lives right next to a HUGE park, so we took a walk and it was so nice. We wanted to make sure we got out before it go too hot since it was going to be 90 degrees this day. Well to curb the heat, her roommate, my friend and I stayed inside most of the day and watched all the rest of the Twilight movies (2 to 4). We took a break to get movie #4. but it was awesome. I am now hooked ;) After making a lovely dinner and another walk we sat down and watched The Kings Speech. Another great movie.
I have never in over 2 years sat all day and did nothing. Never just watched movies, I was unplugged all weekend and it felt wonderful.
I came home to a loving husband (who I appreciate even more so now) and my beautiful little girl. Even the dog was happy to see me. I was recharged and ready to take on Battle Nap Time with the Gabby Girl! We had a great day together, went grocery shopping after our 1.5 hour nap and then the Hubby and I made pizza. Gabby even ate the banana peppers and the mushrooms. I couldn't believe it.
Such a great end to a great weekend and I really want to thank my husband for it. No matter how often he annoys me (which isn't that much), it's so nice to have a loving husband who is willing to spend time with his daughter so his wife can re-charge. Thanks hun! I love you!!

Oh man that sounds absolutely amazing!
Great to hear you had a good time! It's always nice to unplug for a while and just relax! :)
We all need to be reminded to recharge our batteries. What a difference a little "me" time makes! You're one lucky gal. ;-)
Thanks Ladies. I am really appreciative of my Hubby. I figure he can get away for his hunting weekends ;)
