Here are some things I have learned about Breastfeeding over the past 3 1/2 weeks.
1. It's not easy, I knew going into this that it wouldn't be easy, but I honestly never thought it would be this hard (and from what I have heard, I have it easy)
2. Having too much milk is almost as bad as having too little milk. Wish all women could have the happy medium.
3. You don't realize how far your milk can spray until you spray your foot while feeding your daughter.
4. That Babies don't like to be sprayed in the face with breast milk no matter how good it tastes to them.
5. It's amazing how uncomfortable some people can be at the site of the top of a boob in public.
6. That I am not uncomfortable breastfeeding with people around like I thought I might be.
7. That nursing bras are not the most comfortable things to be wearing all the time.
Overall the breastfeeding is going wonderfully now. Peanut and I both have the hang of it, and I am able to handle things with her a lot better. I have started pumping once a day and will up that next week to build up the supply. Mike is feeding her a bottle a day now, which is nice to not have to be the only one feeding her anymore. I love breastfeeding her, but it's nice to have a break. Things were difficult and still are once in awhile, but it's so much easier than it was the first week and I can barely remember how bad it was. I am so glad that I am able to provide the nutrition that my daughter needs and I hope it can continue. However long it does go, I will be grateful, whether that's one month, or 12.
