Peanut's First Twins Game

My dad was lucky enough to get 4 tickets to one of the exhibition games for the Twins in the new stadium. For those that don't live in MN we have had our baseball games at the Metrodome (see pic to the right). While it was great, it's not exactly a wonderful place to have a baseball game. (Great in the spring when it was still snowing, but no fun)....So the Twins finally got their new baseball stadium - an outdoor baseball stadium. Coolest thing ever!! Not only did my dad get tickets, he got AWESOME tickets! We were on the 3rd baseline (a little far from home plate, but not bad) and only 4 rows - yes I said 4 rows from the field. It's a bit different from the Metrodome as when you are on the baselines the wall is only like 4 feet high....so it was pretty cool. The grass didn't look real, but it was. No more astroturf! Welcome the Twins to an outdoor stadium. We couldn't have asked for a better day. It didn't rain, it was 55 to 60 degrees and sunny....A Gorgeous Day.

Here are a few pics from our day. Below is a view of the scoreboard from our seats.

Mike and I in our seats! Aren't we cute...

This is Minnie and Paul. Okay so it's cheesy. For those Non-Minnesotans, that's Minne for Minneapolis and Paul for St. Paul. When the Twins hit a home run the state lights up and Minnie and Paul shake hands...I am sure it's much cooler at night then during a day game. Will have to go to a night game to make sure.

So close to Delmon Young I could see his face...that's amazing. Never been that close to a baseball player at a game before. What's even better is the first time that Mauer got up to bat he hit a home run!! and they won 8 to 3.

After the game we went looking at the Twins Shop and Peanut's grandpa decided to get her a few things. We found a few cute hats for her. One for summer that she might be able to wear this summer after she is born (although it may be big on her) and then another one for winter. They are adorable! Thanks Grandpa & Grandma!!

This is her summer hat....

and this is her winter hat....
